In the dagger scene I would portray some certain parts of it
differently than other directors. I would make it so that there is no dagger at
all. The dagger is just a figment of Macbeth’s imagination and that he seems to
be going insane while talking about something to himself that isn’t even there.
I would also make it so that Macbeth was more cynical and evil looking so that
it shows how his character is evolving into something that he is not because of
the thought of murdering someone. "And on thy blade and dudgeon gouts of blood" (2.1.46) Macbeth should see himself covered in blood
when the dagger comes back covered in blood, because it would be showing how
Macbeth is about to kill someone who is innocent to promote his own personal
gain. When the bell rings I think that
"I go, and it is done. The bell invites me." (2.1.62) Macbeth should look up frantically so that it brings him out of his daze and
makes him remember that there is business to be done. This is what I would like
to do with the dagger scene if I was to direct it.
